THE MEDIEVAL WORLD

What was it like to live in the Middle
Ages?
In the lessons in year 7 you will be looking at what medieval
life was like.
The Middle Ages was from approximately 1000-1485, it was a
period of invasion, conquest and castle building
but it was also a period of learning and religion.
By examining the key themes, questions and words below
you can investigate what the medieval world was like.
KEY THEMES AND QUESTIONS:
Conflict, conquest and invasion: Why did the Normans
invade England and Wales?
Castle building: Why were castles build and why did
they change over time?
Control: What was the Feudal System?
Religion: How important was religion in the Middle
Ages?
Medieval Society: What was the medieval life like for
ordinary people?
